Your monthly summary in Metricool

The monthly summary is an automatic email you receive every month with an overview of how your social media profiles are performing, similar to the Summary section in Metricool. Metricool generates and sends it for you, usually between the 3rd and 5th of the following month.

This summary includes key metrics such as followers, impressions, interactions (likes, comments, shares…), and posts. All comparisons are made against the previous month so you can quickly see how your digital presence is evolving.

Below, we explain how to activate your monthly summary and answer the most frequently asked questions.

The monthly summary is available on all Metricool plans.

How to activate the monthly summary

Make sure your social media profiles are connected before activating the summary. The email will only include data from profiles linked to Metricool.

Follow these steps to start receiving your monthly summary:

Log in to your Metricool account.
Click the three horizontal lines (top-right menu) and select Account settings.
In the Account tab, locate Monthly summary and enable “Receive the monthly summary”.
Leave the email field empty to send it to the account owner’s email, or enter a custom email if you want to send it to someone else.
Click save.

Once activated, you’ll automatically receive your first monthly summary at the beginning of the next month.

How to deactivate the monthly summary

If you decide to stop receiving the monthly summary, the process is very simple:

Go back to Account settings → Account → Preferences → Monthly summary and disable “Receive the monthly summary”. Save the changes.

You can also access your account settings from the footer of the summary email to deactivate it at any time.

If you deactivate the summary just before the sending date (usually between the 3rd and 5th), you may still receive the already scheduled email. Changes will fully apply in the next cycle.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Why am I not receiving the monthly summary email?

Check your spam or junk folder. Also make sure you have connected and synced profiles in Metricool, as the summary is only generated when data is available.

Why are some platform data missing from my monthly summary?

Some platforms, like YouTube, provide data with a few days’ delay.

The monthly summary shows overall trends, but if you need more precise or updated data, we recommend downloading a new report from Metricool.

Why doesn’t the monthly summary include website data?

Social media is the core focus of Metricool, and the new monthly summary format reflects this, just like the Summary section in Analytics.

Website data is complementary, so it’s not included in the email.

You can check your website metrics in Analytics > Website within Metricool.

Can I receive a weekly or quarterly summary?

For now, the automatic summary is only available monthly. If you need reports with different frequencies, you can download them from the Reports section, including your brand logo. You can also schedule reports, and with an Advanced plan or higher, use custom templates.

Can I customize which metrics appear in the summary?

The content and structure of the automatic monthly summary are fixed and can’t be customized. It always includes key metrics such as followers, impressions, interactions, engagement, top posts, and comparisons with the previous month.

If you need reports with specific metrics or custom sections, use the Reports feature.

Advanced plans allow you to create custom report templates.

What language is the summary sent in?

The monthly summary is generated in the language set in your Metricool account. You can change it in Account settings → Account → Language.

Can I send the summary to multiple people?

You can only set one email address in the configuration. If you need multiple recipients, you can:

Manually forward the email you receive each month.
Use scheduled reports from the Reports section, where you can set multiple recipients and custom frequencies.

Does the summary include ad data?

No, the monthly summary only includes organic data.

Can I view the summary inside the platform?

The automatic monthly summary is only sent by email. However, you can view similar metrics in Analytics → Summary inside Metricool.

I changed my email address. How do I update where the summary is sent?

If you changed your main email or want the summary sent to a different address:

Go to Account settings → Account → Monthly summary.
Enter the new email address in the custom email field.
Save the changes.

The next monthly summary will be sent to the new address.
