How to change your payment method

Update your payment method in Metricool


Your payment method is used to charge your Metricool subscription monthly or yearly. If you need to change your card or PayPal, or replace an expired or invalid card, follow these steps.


You can only manage your payment method from Metricool on web (not from the mobile app). If you share brands, only the account owner can change the payment method.


Change or add a payment method

  1. Go to Plan and billing
  2. Click the pencil icon next to your current payment method
  3. Select Add new card or switch to PayPal
  4. Enter the details and save

The new method will be used for your next charge.


Replace an expired or invalid card


If your card has expired or the details are no longer valid, you need to add the new method first before removing the old one.


  1. Add your new card
  • Go to Plan and billing
  • Click the pencil icon
  • Select Add new card
  • Enter the new card details and save


You can’t delete your only payment method while you have an active paid plan. First add the new card and then remove the old one.


  1. Delete the old card

Once the new card is saved:

  • Locate the old card in the payment methods list
  • Click the trash icon next to the card you want to delete
  • Confirm the deletion


Errors when changing or deleting the payment method


If you get an error when trying to delete or add a card:

  • Refresh the page
  • Try in an incognito or private browsing window
  • Check with your bank that the card allows recurring international payments
  • If the issue continues, contact support via chat or email help@metricool.com


Make sure your browser allows pop-ups. Some cards require security verification (3D Secure) shown in a pop-up window.


❓Frequently asked questions


What happens to my payment method if I cancel my plan?

When you cancel your plan, your card or PayPal remains active until the end of your billing period. Once your account switches to the free plan, the payment method is automatically no longer displayed.


Why can’t I delete my card?

You can’t delete your only payment method while you have an active paid plan. You must first add a new payment method or cancel your plan. Once the new method is added, you can delete the old card.


Can I have multiple saved cards?

Yes, you can have multiple payment methods saved. The system will use the one set as primary for automatic charges. You can delete cards you no longer use at any time.


My bank issued a new card with the same number but a new expiration date. Do I need to do anything?

Yes, you need to update the card details in Metricool. Even if the number is the same, the expiration date and CVV will have changed, so you need to add the new card and delete the old one.


When will my new payment method be used?

The new payment method you add will be used for your next scheduled charge. If you were just charged, the change will apply in the next billing cycle.
