How to clear the Metricool app cache

What is the app cache and why should you clear it?

The Metricool app cache stores temporary files (images, scripts, data) to speed up performance. Over time, these files can accumulate and cause issues like getting stuck on the onboarding slides, blank screens, slow loading, or connection errors.

Clearing the cache removes these temporary files without deleting your brands, connections, or session data, which are stored on our servers. After clearing the cache, you’ll just need to log in again.

The cache is cleared from your device settings, not from inside the Metricool app. Steps vary depending on whether you use Android or iOS.

How to clear the cache on Android

Follow these steps to remove the Metricool cache on Android devices:

  1. Open your Android device Settings.
  2. Tap Apps or Applications (names may vary by device).
  3. Find and select Metricool in the list of apps.
  4. Tap Storage or Storage & cache.
  5. Tap Clear cache.
  6. Fully close the Metricool app if it was open (swipe it away from recent apps or use Force stop).
  7. Reopen the Metricool app and log in.

If you still have display issues or blank screens after clearing the Metricool cache, try clearing the cache of Google Play Services using the same steps (Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Storage > Clear cache). Also update Android System WebView from Google Play Store, as Metricool relies on this component to display content correctly.

How to clear the cache on iOS (iPhone/iPad)

iOS does not include an option to delete only the cache of an app. Instead, you can use the “Offload App” feature, which removes temporary files but keeps your documents and session data:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap General > iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage).
  3. Find and select Metricool in the list of apps.
  4. Tap Offload App (not “Delete App”).
  5. Confirm the action. This will remove the app and its cache but keep documents and data.
  6. Tap Reinstall App (it will appear automatically).
  7. Open the Metricool app and log in again.

If you choose “Delete App” instead of “Offload App,” you will need to reinstall Metricool manually from the App Store. Your brands and connections remain saved in your account—you’ll just need to sign in again.

Alternative: Full reinstall on iOS

If “Offload App” does not fix the issue, you can fully delete and reinstall the app:

  1. Long-press the Metricool icon on the Home Screen.
  2. Tap Delete App > Delete.
  3. Go to the App Store and download Metricool again.
  4. Open the app and sign in with your credentials.

What to do after clearing the cache

After clearing the cache and restarting the app:

  • Log in with your email and password. All your brands, social network connections, and configurations will remain intact.

  • Check that you can move forward on the onboarding slides or access the sections that previously caused issues.

In most cases, clearing the cache solves issues like getting stuck on onboarding slides, blank screens, or slow loading. If the problem continues, try updating the app from your app store or contact our support team.

Additional tips to avoid issues

To keep the app running smoothly:

  • Update the app regularly from Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). New versions include bug fixes and performance improvements.

  • Keep your operating system updated. Metricool requires Android 11+ or iOS 15+ for optimal performance.

  • Ensure a stable internet connection. Some loading issues come from unstable connections, active VPNs, or firewalls blocking metricool.com.

  • Free space on your device if it’s full. The app needs space to work properly (around 100 MB after installation).
