Redeem a promotional code


Do you have a promotional code to redeem? Below we explain step by step how to do it. If you have questions, check the section on frequently asked questions.


▪️Promotional codes can only be applied through the Metricool website. ▪️Some promotional codes are valid only for new users. ▪️You need a payment method (card or PayPal) to activate the code, but you won’t be charged during the trial.


How to redeem your code step by step


Free plan users


If you don’t have a Metricool account yet, sign up for free here.


  1. Log in to Metricool here
  2. Click on “Go Premium”
  3. Select the Premium plan and the billing cycle (monthly or yearly)
  4. Enter your billing details and payment method (Card or PayPal)
  5. Click on Add discount code
  6. Enter your promotional code and click Apply
  7. Click on update plan.


Premium plan users


  1. Log in to Metricool here
  2. Go to Plan & billing
  3. Click on Change plan
  4. Select a higher Premium plan
  5. Click on Add discount code
  6. Enter your promotional code and click Apply
  7. Click on update plan


If you decide not to continue with the plan, remember to cancel or return to your previous plan before the trial ends.



What happens after redeeming the code


When you redeem a code to try a higher plan, a trial period starts during which you can use that plan at no cost. Below we explain what happens depending on your account type.


During the trial

  • You have full access to the plan you selected when redeeming the code.
  • No charges are made during the trial.
  • You can decide whether to continue with the new plan before the trial ends.


When the trial ends if you don’t cancel

If you don’t cancel before the end of the trial, you will be automatically charged for the plan and billing cycle you selected when redeeming the code (monthly or yearly).

Your subscription then moves to the higher plan and renews normally according to its cycle.


If you cancel before the trial expires

If you decide not to continue with the higher plan, what happens depends on the type of account you had before starting the trial.


🆓 If you had a FREE account
  • Access to the higher plan ends immediately.
  • Your account returns to the FREE plan at that moment.
  • No charge will be made.


đź’ł If you already had an active Premium plan


When you have a Premium plan and activate a trial of a higher plan, canceling the trial gives you two options:


  1. Return to the previous (Premium) plan
  • You can use the Change plan button or the equivalent option (Cancel change, depending on the final process).
  • Access to the higher plan stops and you immediately return to your Premium plan.
  • Your billing does not change: you keep your current renewal cycle and will continue being charged for your Premium plan as usual.


  1. Cancel the subscription
  • Access to the higher plan ends.
  • Your current Premium plan will remain active until the already-paid period ends.
  • When that period ends, your account will automatically move to the Free plan.
  • No charge is made for the higher plan.


If you don’t take action before the trial ends, you will be automatically charged for the plan and cycle selected when redeeming the code.


❓​Frequently asked questions


Can I redeem a code without entering a payment method?

No. All trial codes require entering a card or PayPal account to activate, although you won’t be charged if you cancel before the trial expires.


Why isn’t my code working?

The most common reasons are:

  • The code has already been used: Promotional codes are single-use per account.
  • The code has expired: Some codes have an expiration date.
  • The code is not applicable: Some codes only work for new users or have reached their usage limit.

Can I extend or restart my free trial?

No. Trial codes are valid only once per account. It is not possible to restart or extend a trial on the same account.


Can I select another plan during the trial?

It is not possible to change the selected plan during the trial. If you chose the wrong plan, contact support via chat or email help@metricool.com.


Will I lose my data if I cancel after the trial?

No. Your data (scheduled posts, analytics, brands) is preserved. If you return to the Free plan, you will simply have the limitations of that plan (1 brand, reduced analytics access, etc.), but nothing is deleted. You can upgrade again anytime to restore full access.


What happens if I forget to cancel before the trial ends?

You will be automatically charged for the selected plan. If you are within the first 15 days after the first payment, you may exercise your right of withdrawal by contacting support through chat or at help@metricool.com.
