How to schedule recurring posts in Metricool

Schedule recurring posts

The Schedule recurrence feature lets you create multiple posts with the same content in one or more brands, automatically setting dates and times.

Available on Advanced and Custom plans.

You can set up recurrence in two ways:

Access recurring scheduling

  1. Create your post from the calendar as usual (text, images, videos...).
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Schedule button.
  3. In the menu that opens, select Schedule recurrence.

The configuration window will open.

Guided mode

Guided mode lets you set up recurrence using structured fields.

  1. Scheduling type

You can choose between:

🔁 Recurring

Defines:

  • Days of the week (Mon–Sun).
  • Duration (for example, 3 weeks).

You must indicate:

  • Number.
  • Time unit (weeks).

Metricool will generate the posts based on that frequency.

📅 Custom

Lets you select specific dates from the calendar.

  1. Click Select dates.
  2. Mark the specific days.
  3. Confirm the selection.

  1. Publish time

You can:

  • Set a time manually (hours and minutes).
  • Enable Use best times.

If you enable best times:

  • Metricool will automatically assign the best available time for each selected social network.
  • It will apply to all generated posts.

  1. Time zone

You can:

  • Use each brand’s individual time zone.
  • Enable the option so all brands publish in the same time zone.

If you choose a common time zone:

  • You must select it manually from the dropdown.

  1. Selected brands

In this section you can:

  • See the included brands.
  • Add more available brands.
  • Remove brands before generating the schedule.

  1. Social networks

From Configure networks by brand you can:

  • Set which social networks will publish.
  • Enable or disable specific networks per brand.

  1. Generate preview

Click Generate preview.

Metricool will show:

  • All the posts that will be created.
  • Assigned date and time.
  • Included brand and social networks.

From this view you can:

  • Edit dates or times.
  • Select all or individual posts.
  • Change the instructions and generate the plan again.

  1. Finish scheduling

Once you’ve reviewed the posts:

You can:

  • Save as draft.
  • Schedule to confirm the final publishing.

Expert mode

Expert mode lets you set up recurrence by typing the instructions directly in a prompt.

At the top of the window you’ll find access to expert mode.

Configure recurring posts, keeping the same content in one or more brands. Choose which social networks, dates, and times they will be published on.

Prompt requirements

For the scheduling to be processed correctly, it must include:

  • A specific time.
  • A specific day or a time period.

Valid examples:

  • “Schedule this post every remaining Monday of this month at 21:00.”
  • “Schedule this post in all my brands for 3 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18:00.”
  • “Schedule this post on March 15, 18, and 22 at 10:00 in all brands with Instagram connected.”
