How to manually publish via notification

When is manual publishing necessary?

In some cases, it's not possible to autopublish content from Metricool. In those situations, you can still schedule it and complete the publication manually using a notification you'll receive when it's time to publish.

Manual publishing is available for:

➡️ Instagram

  • Stories from Creator accounts
  • Stories that include links, mentions, or interactive stickers
  • Videos with trending music from Instagram's music library
  • Any content that doesn’t meet the autopublishing requirements

➡️ TikTok

  • Videos that include music from TikTok’s library
  • Content requiring effects, stickers, or native features
  • Any post that doesn’t meet the autopublishing requirements

How does manual publishing work?

  1. Schedule your content in the Metricool planner:
  • Select the post type.
  • Make sure the Autopublish toggle is off.
  1. When it's time to publish, you'll receive a notification on your mobile device (recommended) or via email.
  2. When you click the notification:
  • Images or videos are automatically downloaded to your gallery.
  • Text is copied to your clipboard.
  1. Tap “Publish” to open the Instagram or TikTok app. Then complete your post:
  • Add the media from your gallery.
  • Paste the text into the caption.
  • Make final edits (effects, sounds, stickers, etc).
  1. Finish the post from the native app.

Notes

  • For a smoother experience, use the Metricool mobile app (available on iOS and Android) and log in.
  • If you choose to receive notifications by email, keep in mind:

-Some browsers may block or make it harder to download media automatically.

-The process will be less smooth, and you might need to save the files manually.
