How to set up notifications

What posts are published manually

Generally speaking, you can post automatically on all social media, but there are two networks with exceptions: TikTok and Instagram.

For TikTok, you will be able to post through notifications if your video does not meet the criteria accepted for automatic posting.

Regarding to Instagram, the publication is manual and works via notification in these cases:

  • Stories on Creator accounts.
  • Stories that include links, mentions, stickers...
  • Videos with Trending Music on Instagram
  • Any post that does not meet the requirements for autopublishing

Set up notifications

You can receive your publication notification by e-mail or by our mobile app (recommended option).

  • Push notification via mobile

To set up your push notifications on your mobile device, follow these steps:

  1. Download our app on your iOS / Android phone.
  2. Login to Metricool to link your device with your account.
  3. Access the planner > notifications
  4. Select "On my mobile device" from the drop-down menu.
  5. Enable the device
  6. Click on Save

💡 We recommend using the Save and send a test option to make sure you receive the notifications correctly

From now on, if you have the autopublish option turned off, when it's time to publish, you will receive a notification. Click on the notification and the media will be downloaded to your gallery and the text will be automatically copied to the clipboard and redirect you to the Instagram app. Follow the usual process of posting from Instagram.

  • E-mail notification

If you prefer to receive notifications in your email, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the scheduler > notifications
  2. Select "In my e-mail" in the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your e-mail account
  4. Click on Add
  5. Click on Save

⚠️ Some browsers do not allow the download of multimedia content, so the process may be less fluid. We recommend that you opt for mobile notification

If you're on an Advanced or Enterprise plan and have shared brands, you'll see the “My Team” tab in addition to “My Settings” (which is visible to each team member). Only the account owner can view the “My Team” tab, which shows the devices and active emails of all members. Each user must set up their own notifications from their “My Settings” tab.
