CNAME setup step-by-step

With Cloudflare

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare control panel and select your domain

  1. Select DNS option

  1. From the DNS control panel:
  • Press on "Add record"
  • Select the value "CNAME for the Typefield
  • Put the name of your subdomain (to use as a white label domain) in the Name field
  • In the Target field type: app.metricool.com
  • Make sure that Proxy Status is enabled (with orange color and status 'Proxied' as seen in the capture).
  • Press "Save" to register the new DNS record

  1. Contact us indicating the name of the subdomain you habe registered in the previous step. Then, we will validate it and configure our application accordingly. Once the domain is validated we will notify you so you can start using the new domain.

With any other DNS supplier

  1. Log in to your DNS control panel and register the next CNAME record:

  • Name: {your subdomain to use as white label domain}
  • Value: cf_fallback.metricool.com.cdn.cloudflare.net

  1. Provide the registered subdomain to the Metricool team so that we can configure our infrastructure.

  1. Once we have verified and configured the name, we will send a pair of text data to register in your DNS as a CNAME. This can take a couple of hours to display, if all data is correctly configured. Once the domain is validated we will notify you so you can start using the new domain.

Important: the subdomain you choose to serve the White Label should be a subdomain of the website you open the iframe on. For example: for clientifycom they are using metricool.clientify.com
