Why I can’t see my stories published from Metricool in the Instagram archive

Stories published from Metricool and the Instagram archive

If you published stories on Instagram from Metricool but can’t find them in your archive, check the "Save story to archive" setting in the Instagram app.

If this option is disabled, stories won’t be saved to the archive when they expire.

The Stories Archive is a native Instagram feature that automatically saves your stories when they expire. For it to work, the "Save story to archive" option must be enabled in the Instagram app, whether you publish from Metricool or directly from Instagram.

How to enable the stories archive on Instagram

  1. Open the Instagram app on your mobile device
  2. Go to your profile and tap the menu (☰)
  3. Select Archive
  4. In the stories archive, tap the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner
  5. Select Settings
  6. Enable Save story to archive

Once this setting is enabled, all your future stories will automatically be saved in the archive when they expire (after 24 hours). Stories published before enabling this option will not be added retroactively.

Does this affect Metricool analytics?

No. The Instagram stories archive and Metricool analytics work independently:

  • Instagram Archive: saves your expired stories so you can view them later
  • Metricool analytics: displays statistics and metrics for your stories

Publishing from Metricool does not affect the Instagram archive. If "Save story to archive" is enabled on Instagram, your stories will be saved whether you publish them from Metricool or directly from the Instagram app.
