How notifications work in post approval

Notifications in post approval

During the post approval process, Metricool generates notifications in the following cases:

  • When a post is sent for review (notification for reviewers)
  • When a post is rejected (notification for the creator)

The post approval system is available on the Advanced and Custom plans.

Approved posts do not generate notifications. To check the status of an approved post, review the Planner or My Tasks.

Notifications for reviewers (pending posts)

When a post is sent for review, reviewers receive a notification to review the pending content.

  • If the reviewer has a Metricool account, the notification appears in Main menu > My Tasks. The post creator can decide whether the reviewer also receives an email by enabling Send email notification.
  • If the reviewer is added using an external email, they will always receive an email notification.

If you are a reviewer and do not receive an email, check My Tasks in Metricool. Posts pending review always appear in this section even if the email was not sent.

Notifications when sending posts in bulk

When several posts are sent for review using bulk actions, the email behavior depends on the type of reviewer:

  • Metricool users with access to the brand (shared brand): receive a single email containing all posts pending review.
  • Reviewers added via external email: receive a separate email for each post sent for review.

Only members who have access to the brand in Metricool appear as selectable users. If the reviewer has an account but does not have access to that brand, you must add them using an external email.

Notifications for creators (rejected posts)

When a reviewer rejects a post, Metricool automatically sends an email to the creator of the post.

The email includes the rejection note if the reviewer added an explanation.

There is no option to disable these notifications. If you prefer not to receive them, you can manage them from your email client, for example:

  • Create a filter to organize them automatically
  • Mark them as read based on the sender
