How to close active Metricool sessions

How session logout works in Metricool

Metricool automatically closes your active sessions in web browsers when you change or recover your password. This includes sessions on:

  • Web browsers (desktop and mobile)
  • Any other browser where you previously logged in

The session logout process may take up to 15 minutes.

For now, automatic session logout is not available in the mobile app.

We will add this functionality soon to offer a unified experience between web and app.

How to close all sessions

You have two options to close your active sessions by changing your password:

➡️ Change your password from your account

If you have access to your account, log in to Metricool and follow these steps:

  1. From the side menu, go to Account settings
  2. Select Access
  3. Enter your new password
  4. Click Save changes
  5. Verify the change by entering your current password
  6. Click Confirm to finish

If you change your password from Account settings, your current browser session will not be closed, but all others will.

➡️ Recover your password by email

If you don’t remember your password or don’t have access:

  1. Go to the Metricool login page
  2. Click "I forgot my password"
  3. Enter your registered email
  4. Check your inbox and click the recovery link
  5. Create a new password

The recovery email may take a few minutes to arrive. Check your spam folder if you don’t receive it.

What happens after the change

Once you change your password:

  • All active sessions in web browsers will close automatically (this process may take up to 15 minutes), except your current session if you made the change from Account settings. You will need to log in again in the browsers where the session was closed.
  • Remember that, for now, the mobile app does not log out automatically.

When to use this feature

Change your password to close active sessions if:

  • You suspect someone has unauthorized access to your account.
  • You logged in on a public or shared computer.
  • You used Metricool in a browser you no longer control.
  • You want to ensure only your authorized browsers keep access to your account.

As an additional security measure, consider enabling two-step authentication after changing your password.
