Why can’t I enable auto-publishing?
What to do if you can’t enable auto-publishing
If you try to enable auto-publishing on an Instagram or TikTok post but the button is disabled, it’s because the scheduled date and time have already passed and Metricool has sent the notification to publish manually.
To enable auto-publishing, duplicate the post from the calendar:
- Open the planner and locate the post.
- Click on the post and select Duplicate.
- The composer will open with a new copy of the post.
- Turn on Auto-publishing (it will now be available).
- Adjust the date, time, or social networks if needed.
- Save the post.
Why this happens
When you schedule a post with auto-publishing turned off, Metricool prepares it for manual publishing from the native app. At the scheduled time, you receive a push notification or email that redirects you to Instagram or TikTok, downloads the content to your gallery, and copies the text to your clipboard.
Once the scheduled time arrives and the notification is sent, Metricool has already run the manual publishing flow. This process can’t be reversed or changed to auto-publishing. That’s why the button stays disabled even if you try to edit the post later, and you need to duplicate the post to restart the flow.
