FAQs



Why is another account logged in?

Browsers often save login credentials in their cache. If the account connected to Metricool is not the one you wanted to connect, please follow the steps we indicate here.

Can I get more than two months of historical data?

When you connect a new social network account with Metricool, data is calculated for the previous two months. Exceptionally, the number of Twitter, Tik Tok and Instagram followers, as well as YouTube subscribers and Instagram stories, cannot be known prior to the day of connection with Metricool. Metrics will be collected from that point onwards.

If you need to have the data for the whole year, we can calculate it, but it is a process we have to run manually and it is only for premium accounts.

How are posts counted in the FREE plan?

Posts are counted by calendar month, meaning on the 1st of each month you will have the balance of 50 posts available to publish again. Keep in mind that only published posts are counted, not scheduled ones. You will see the counter in the planner. For premium plans, consult our Fair Use Policy for Social Media Scheduling.

Why can't I connect my Facebook profile?

Facebook profiles, whether personal or professional, are not supported for connection via Meta's third-party API. You will only be able to connect pages and you must have administrator permissions. See the article I can't connect Facebook for more details.

Do I need a Facebook page to connect Instagram?

It depends on your needs. To schedule and post on Instagram, you can connect your account directly with your credentials. However, to access all functionalities, you need to link it to a Facebook page. See details in the article Connect Instagram to Metricool .

Can I auto-publish to Instagram from Metricool?

You will be able to schedule and auto-post to Instagram, with the exception of stories with creator accounts, as Instagram's third-party API only allows auto-posting for account set up as Business . You can switch your account type to Business or post via notification.


At the moment, Instagram's third-party API does not allow you to add elements in stories, such as links, stickers, mentions…In these cases, you can use publish via notification. When it's time to post, we will send you a notification with the video and text to your cell phone (recommended) or email that downloads the video and copies the text automatically to the clipboard so you only have to post in the Instagram app. More information here.

Why can't I connect a YouTube channel?

In order to connect a YouTube channel you must have the permission in the channel settings itself, the permissions in YouTube Studio are not valid. More details at

Got a promotional code, do I need to add a payment method to apply it?

If you have a promotional code you will need to submit a valid payment method (card or PayPal) in order to redeem it, but don't worry, you will not be charged during the trial period. We recommend you to try the Advanced plan which includes all the features, click here to find out all its advantages.
If you finally decide not to continue with the premium plan, remember to cancel before the trial period ends. Your account will automatically switch to the free plan.

Why are there differences between using social media platforms natively and through Metricool?

Social media platforms impose certain restrictions on their APIs, which can limit the features available to third-party tools like Metricool. While native platforms have full control over all their functionalities, they may choose not to provide access to specific features through their API. These limitations are determined by each platform. You can check the specific details for each platform here.

Does Metricool have permanence?

You can cancel your premium plan at any time and you will be able to continue enjoying its advantages until it expires, but it will not be renewed automatically. Then your account will become Free (remember that our free plan is for life).
