Business Manager

Meta's Business Manager (formerly known as Facebook Business Manager) is a comprehensive platform for managing and organizing assets on Meta's platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and Meta Ads.

You need to have certain permissions in Meta Business Manager to be able to connect through its API for third parties, such as Metricool.

In this article we are going to see the permissions management, so you must access the "Settings" section, as shown in the image.

⚠️ If you have access to more than one business account, you can manage them from the left menu. Click on the arrow to open the drop-down menu and select the desired account.

Managing Permissions

The Meta Business Manager, broadly speaking, has the following structure: Business account > People > Assets. Access the permissions management by clicking here or from configuration > Users > People.

💡 Business account may appear as business portfolio

Here are some details to help you with the permission validation process.

Business account: this is the account for the entire business, you must have access to the business account to manage Facebook pages, Instagram and Meta ads (advertising account).

People: people are the personal Facebook profiles that have access to the business account. Each person will be able to manage the assets on which they have permissions.

Assets: these are all the elements that are part of Meta, i.e. Facebook pages, Instagram and Meta ads (advertising account).

Permission Levels in Meta:

Business Account: You can have full or partial permissions
Facebook Page: You must have full permission
Instagram Account: You can have full or partial permissions
Ad account: permission can be full or partial (by enabling the Manage campaigns (ads)* option)



Depending on your role, you can add people to the business account by clicking "Invite people".

The status of the account or business portfolio should appear as "active," and upon accessing, you should have the assets you want to connect to Metricool associated.

Your assets

Once in Settings > Users > People, click on your profile to access the assets assigned to you and review the permissions granted to each of them. Depending on your role, you will be able to add assets as well as manage the business account and the different assets already included in your profile.
