Color or Quality difference when publishing my content

Color changes

Images

You may notice a change in the image's color, tones, or quality when publishing content from our planner, especially on Instagram. This happens because the Instagram API (the way Metricool interacts and communicates with Instagram) uses RGB for color composition. If you use a different filter in your images, Instagram will transform it to RGB, which can lead to changes in the picture.

To fix this, you should go to your image editor, and convert the photo to RGB color mode. In Photoshop, for example, this option is under Edit > Color Settings.

Videos

If the video is posted with a yellowish appearance it is probably because it is shot in iPhone HDR mode and is not supported when posting by API. Ycan modify the video using a video editor (such as CapCut or Final Cut Pro). Check this link from Apple support to disable HDR mode.

Also, note that HEVC files are not supported for automatic publishing. To avoid problems, it is recommended to use MP4 instead of MOV, in planning they will be converted to MP4 automatically.

Quality changes

Concerning quality, the size of the image is crucial. If the image is too small, the social media platform will enlarge it, which may affect the quality of the image. If it is too large, it is possible that social networks will compress the image at the time of publication, making it blurry. To avoid this, it is essential to add images that meet the requirements set by each social media platform. You can find the requirements here.

When it comes to fonts, for better clarity, a DPI of 300 is recommended.
