The video fails to publish: what to check

What to check?

When a video returns an error when publishing, the most common reason is an unsupported bitrate by the API of the social network where you're trying to publish.

Audio Bitrate: The recommended audio bitrate is 128 kbps. This ensures adequate sound quality and is supported across all social networks.
Video Bitrate: The recommended video bitrate is between 5000 kbps and 25000 kbps. This ensures proper video quality and is supported across all social networks.

Other important considerations:

HEVC files are not supported with automatic publishing. To avoid issues, it’s recommended to use MP4 instead of MOV. When planning, files will be automatically converted to MP4.
The HDR format (iPhone) is also not compatible with video publishing via API. Check how to disable it here.

How to check the parameters?

You can check the audio and video bitrate in the file properties:

Windows: Right-click on the file, select Properties, and review the bitrate information in the details tab.
macOS: Right-click on the file, select Get Info, and check the bitrate information by clicking more details.
