Frequent posting errors & troubleshooting by social network

Common Publishing Errors

It may happen that when publishing in the scheduler, an error message is displayed. Below, we show you the most common errors and recommendations for solving them by social network.

Facebook

Check the article Facebook posting errors & troubleshooting for more details.

Instagram

LinkedIn

➡️ Code 403: Accessing this video resource is forbidden. Please check your permissions for this resource.

This error indicates that you do not have sufficient permissions to post. Remember that you need super administrator permissions. You can easily check this within LinkedIn by going to the top right "Me" menu > Click on the company name > Settings > Manage Admins.

TikTok

➡️ photo_pull_failed

This error occurs because the TikTok server failed to download the image and the timeout expired. The recommendation would be to create a new post (not duplicate the existing one) and retry. You can find more details about this error and similar ones in the API documentation here.

➡️ Post has a high spam risk

This error means that TikTok has detected a high risk of spam-like behavior and rejects the post.

It may be due to:

  • Posting too frequently
  • Other risky actions within the app (such as automations or suspicious patterns)
  • Using multiple accounts to bypass previous restrictions. According to TikTok, creating additional accounts to avoid blocks or restrictions goes against their guidelines.

Recommendation: Do not retry publishing from Metricool. Check your account status directly in TikTok, and if applicable, submit an appeal from the app.

📝 If the account is still allowed to publish, you'll need to reconnect it to Metricool, as access expires for security reasons after this type of alert.

YouTube

➡️ You have reached your Metricool account limit

This error means you have reached your posting limit on Metricool for YouTube. Keep in mind that these limits are per 24-hour period, not by calendar day.

  • FREE Plan: 10 posts every 24 hours
  • Premium Plan: 20 posts every 24 hours.

To check if you can post, count the last 24 hours from the current time; if there are fewer posts than the set limit, you can post.

➡️ The authenticated user doesn't have permissions to upload and set custom video thumbnails.

This warning (the video is published) means the account doesn’t have the feature enabled to set custom thumbnails when uploading via the API. The channel owner needs to verify the YouTube account and make sure the “custom thumbnails” option is turned on. You can check the details here.
