Your Guide to the New X/Twitter Add-On

Changes on X



Due to a policy change by Twitter/X, they now charge for every connection made through their API. This has significantly increased the associated costs, leading Metricool to offer X/Twitter account connections as a paid add-on.

The add-on is available for premium plans at a cost of €5/$5 per month per connected X/Twitter account.

Not available in the Starter Mobile 5 plan subscription.

I have a FREE plan and want to continue using X


In this case, you’ll first need to upgrade to a premium plan. Go to the section "Upgrade your plan if you're not premium yet".

I have a Premium plan with X accounts connected


YES, I want to continue with the add-on

If you already have a premium plan with X accounts connected, everything will continue to work as it has so far. This change will apply on your renewal date, and we will automatically add the necessary add-ons to maintain your X account connections without interruptions, with the corresponding cost.

If you need to adjust the number of accounts connected before your renewal, you can easily do so from Settings > Plan and Billing.
Check the Manage your add-ons section for more details.

NO, I do not want to continue with the add-on

If you want to keep your premium plan but no longer have a connection to X/Twitter, simply adjust the number of add-ons to 0 before your next renewal. It is not necessary to cancel your subscription. Check the "reduce add-ons" section for more details.

Each X/Twitter add-on allows you to connect one X/Twitter account per brand. If you need to connect more accounts, you’ll need to add one add-on for each account (up to the limit included in your plan).

How to Add an Add-On





Upgrade Your Plan if You're Not Premium Yet



If you're using Metricool with a FREE plan, the first step to continue managing X/Twitter is to upgrade to a Starter plan or higher:

Log in to your Metricool account.
Click on Go Premium.
Select the plan that best fits your needs. You can view them here.
During the subscription process, you can include the add-on. Add the required add-ons (1 add-on per brand, up to the limit included in your plan).
Complete the upgrade process with your preferred payment method.

Add the X Add-On to Your Current Subscription



Go to Settings > Plan and Billing.
Click on Change, and select the add-ons (1 add-on per brand, up to the limit included in your plan).
Click Continue and complete the add-on payment ( €5/$5 per month) to activate the connection.

Manage Your Add-Ons



From your account settings, you can modify the number of add-ons, adding as many as your plan allows for each brand or reducing the current number to remove X connections you no longer need.



Increase Add-Ons

Go to Settings > Plan and Billing
Click on Change and increase the add-ons (1 add-on per brand, up to your plan’s limit).
Click Continue and complete the payment for the add-on (€5/$5 per month or the applicable prorated amount) to activate the account connection.

Reduce Add-Ons

Go to Settings > Plan and Billing
Click on Change and decrease the add-ons.
Click Continue and complete the process to remove the specified add-ons. The change will take effect in your next billing cycle.

FAQs



I have a FREE plan, can I still use X/Twitter?

No, to continue managing X/Twitter, you need to upgrade to a premium plan (Starter or higher). See the section "Upgrade your plan if you're not yet premium".

What if I want to cancel my X/Twitter connection but keep my current plan?

There's no need to cancel your subscription or change your plan. Simply adjust the number of add-ons to 0 before your next renewal.

How many X/Twitter accounts can I connect with an add-on?

Each add-on allows you to connect one X/Twitter account per brand. If you need to connect more accounts, you'll need to add an additional add-on for each account, up to the limit allowed by your plan.

When do changes take effect?

If you add an add-on to your subscription, the change will take effect immediately, and the cost (total or proportional) will be charged.
If you reduce your add-ons, the change will take effect starting from your next renewal.

Can I purchase the add-on with the Starter Mobile 5 plan?

No, X add-ons are not available in the mobile subscription. If you have an active mobile subscription and want to access the add-on, you’ll first need to cancel your mobile subscription and then subscribe via the web, adding the add-on during the process. Check the details here.
