Wrong Facebook page appears during Instagram setup
Updated today
If Metricool shows a Facebook page that isn't yours, or isn't the page you want, while you connect Instagram via Facebook, fix it by confirming the active Facebook profile, verifying the Instagram–page link in Meta, disconnecting the wrong page in Metricool, and renewing Meta permissions if the wrong page persists.
This usually happens because you're logged into Facebook with a profile that has access to multiple pages and the wrong one is selected, a previous authorization from another Facebook profile is cached in your browser, or you don't have admin or full control permissions on the correct page.
Confirm you're logged into the correct Facebook profile
Before retrying the connection, make sure you're logged into Facebook with the profile that has admin access to the page you want to connect.
Open facebook.com in your browser.
Click your profile picture in the top right to see which account is active.
If it's the wrong account, log out and log in with the correct one.
Verify the Instagram–Facebook page link in Meta
The Instagram account must be linked to the correct Facebook page before connecting to Metricool.
Open the Instagram app on your phone.
Go to your profile and tap Edit Profile.
Under Business Public Information, tap Page.
Confirm the correct Facebook page is shown there. If a different page is linked, disconnect it and link the correct one.
For detailed steps, see Linking Facebook to Instagram.
Clear cached permissions and reconnect in Metricool
If you previously connected a different page, disconnect it before reconnecting.
Go to the connections dashboard.
Find the Facebook page showing incorrectly and click the X to disconnect it.
Click Connect page to start the connection again.
In the Facebook pop-up, make sure you're logged in with the correct profile (check the top right corner).
Select the correct page from the list. Instagram will automatically connect.
If the correct page doesn't appear in the list, your Facebook profile may not have admin or full control permissions on that page. Ask another page admin to grant you access, or reconnect using their Facebook profile.
Renew Meta permissions if the wrong page persists
If you still see the wrong page after disconnecting, remove Metricool's authorization from Facebook and start fresh.
Find Metricool in the list of connected apps.
Click Remove to revoke all permissions.
Return to Metricool and reconnect your Facebook page, accepting all permission prompts.
For Business Manager accounts, also check that both the Facebook page and Instagram account are added as assets with the correct permissions. See Meta Business Manager Permissions.
