Flows runs no automations. There is no free quota.
Your Guide to the Flows Add-On
Updated today
The Flows add-on gives you a monthly quota of executions: packs of 2,500 executions per month at €10/$12, the same price on every plan. Without at least one pack, Flows runs no automations. The add-on arrives on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with a grace period until November 9; from that date the add-on is required for Flows to keep running.
The price is flat: a pack costs €10/$12 on Starter, Advanced, and Custom alike, and it does not grow with the number of brands in your account.
What the add-on costs
You buy the add-on from Plans & Billing, where a card for the Flows add-on lets you pick the number of packs you want, the same way you buy any other add-on. They are billed together with your subscription in the same operation and renew with it at every renewal.
Item | Quota | Price |
|---|---|---|
Execution pack | 2,500 executions per month | €10/$12 |
Extra execution (only if you set Flows not to stop at the limit) | 1 execution | 0.01 EUR / 0.01 USD |
You pick the number of packs. There is no single fixed pack: three packs mean 7,500 executions a month, and you can raise or lower the number later.
No annual discount. Paying yearly does not make the pack cheaper or bigger; the only difference is that the 12 months are prepaid at once.
No free quota. Without at least one pack, Flows runs nothing.
Extra executions are billed per unit, not in packs. Going 1,500 over costs 15 EUR, not the price of another pack.
Example with 3 packs:
Monthly | Annual | |
|---|---|---|
Charged at purchase | 30 EUR per month | 360 EUR in one payment |
Executions available each month | 7,500 | 7,500 every month of the year |
An annual purchase is a single upfront payment, not a yearly pool of executions: each month still gets its own quota.
What counts as an execution
An execution counts when a Flow fires and completes its first action, no matter how many steps the Flow has. A Flow with 3 steps is one execution once the first step completes.
If the comment that triggered the Flow no longer exists when the Flow acts, it does not count as an execution.
The add-on covers every network where Flows is available: there is no separate "Flows for TikTok".
There is no limit on how many Flows you can have active. What counts is how many times they fire.
How the quota works
The quota is always monthly, also on annual plans. Each pack gives 2,500 executions per month and resets every month. Unused executions do not carry over.
The reset happens on your subscription renewal day. If your annual plan renews on January 5, your executions reset on the 5th of every month, not on the calendar month change.
The quota is per account, tied to your subscription. Every brand in your account draws from one shared quota, with no split or reserve per brand. If the same social profile is connected in two brands, only one execution is deducted.
When you reach the quota limit
You decide what happens on the Flows main page: stop the Flows at the monthly limit, or keep them running and pay 0.01 EUR per extra execution. If you do not set anything, Flows stop at the limit by default. Even with the pay-per-execution option there is a hard cap of 100,000 executions per month; you can set your own limit below that cap for more control, and past 100,000 Flows stop anyway.
Before reaching the limit, you get in-app and email warnings at 80% and 100% of the quota. The quota indicator on the Flows page changes color as you use up the quota, and banners plus a popover show the month's consumption at every stage.
How extra usage is billed
Under 100 extra executions in a month: not charged.
If you buy another pack after going over: the extra executions already generated that month are deducted from the new pack instead of billed separately. Buying more quota mid-month covers the overage that already happened.
Any other overage (100 or more extra executions not covered by a new pack): billed every month, also on annual plans. It is never accumulated until the annual renewal.
The overage comes on a separate invoice from the subscription invoice (which carries the packs). If you see two different charges, that is expected: one is the subscription with its packs, the other is the month's overage.
Launch date and grace period
The add-on arrives on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with a grace period until November 9. During the grace period nothing changes for your Flows: they keep running even without the add-on, executions are not deducted yet, and you can already buy the add-on from Plans & Billing. A message on the Flows page announces when deductions start.
From November 9, executions are deducted from your packs as Flows run, and the add-on is required for Flows to keep working.
Who can buy the add-on
Plan | Can it have the add-on? |
|---|---|
Paid plans | Yes, from the web |
Free | No, upgrade to a paid plan first |
Mobile plans via the App Store | No, add-ons do not exist on that purchase channel |
If you have a Custom or whitelabel plan, contact our support team via chat or at [email protected] to check your options.
Who can manage the quota
Only the account owner, the one who pays the subscription, can manage packs and choose what happens at the limit. Collaborators and brand clients can see how many executions have been used and how many remain, but cannot change any of these settings.
Flows and the X add-on
To automate on X you need both add-ons: the X add-on to connect the account and the Flows add-on to run automations on it. If one is missing, you get a notice and the X templates show as visible but locked.
FAQs
What happens if I don't buy the add-on?
Is the quota per brand or per account?
Per account: the quota is tied to your subscription and shared by all the brands in it. There is no split or reserve per brand.
How much does going over the quota cost?
0.01 EUR / 0.01 USD per extra execution, and only if you set your Flows not to stop at the limit. Under 100 extra executions in a month, nothing is charged.
I went over the quota and bought another pack the same month. Do I pay the overage plus the new pack?
No. The extra executions already generated are deducted from the new pack instead of billed separately.
Can I raise or lower the number of packs?
Raising works any time, on monthly or annual: it applies immediately and charges only the prorated difference. Lowering is different: on monthly it applies from the next month, and on annual it is not possible until renewal, because everything is prepaid.
If I buy the add-on mid-month, do I get the full quota or a prorated one?
The full quota. Metricool prorates the first month's price, but you get every execution from day one.
If I pay annually, can I save up executions and spend them whenever I want during the year?
No. The payment is a single upfront charge, but the quota stays monthly: each pack gives 2,500 executions every month, not one pool for the year. Unused executions do not move to the next month, and future months cannot be used in advance.
Who can manage packs and the stop/continue setting?
Only the account owner. Collaborators and brand clients see the executions used and remaining, but cannot manage packs or extra executions.
Does the add-on work in the mobile app?
No. Flows is not available on mobile.
I already have the X add-on. Do I also need the Flows add-on to automate on X?
Yes. They are two different add-ons and both are required.
What happens if I cancel my subscription or stop paying for the add-on?
If only the renewal is cancelled, the subscription stays active until the renewal date, but Flows stop as soon as the month's quota is exceeded, even if you had set them not to stop. When the add-on is lost entirely, every active Flow stops and keeps its configuration in case it is reactivated later. Extra executions already generated and not yet charged are still billed at month close, like any other overage.
Does a Flow with many steps count as more than one execution?
No. An execution counts when the Flow fires and completes its first action; the number of steps the Flow has does not matter.
