Metricool Studio generates text based on the language it detects in your prompt and content. To get output in a specific language, write your prompt in that language, or explicitly tell the AI to respond in that language. The introduction and insights sections translate reliably; metric labels in charts may sometimes stay in their original language.
Metricool Studio limits, data, and permissions

Understand what data Metricool Studio can analyze, what it cannot access, plan-based limits, and how brand-level permissions control who can generate and view reports. This article is a reference for capabilities, restrictions, and access control.
What Studio can analyze
Metricool Studio works with all data that Metricool already collects from your connected social media profiles. This includes:
Performance metrics (reach, impressions, engagement, followers, clicks)
Content performance (top posts, formats, posting patterns)
Competitor data available in Metricool — with one important caveat (see below)
Competitor analysis caveat
Metricool Studio can analyze competitor metrics available in Metricool. However, follower counts are stored as a cumulative snapshot — only the latest value is kept. This means Metricool Studio cannot show you follower evolution over time for competitor accounts. All other competitor metrics can be explored normally.
What Studio cannot access
Metricool Studio works exclusively with Metricool data. It cannot pull in data from Google Analytics, your CRM, or any other external source, and it cannot process image or video files as data inputs. For external data integrations, use the Data Studio connector.
Plan-based access
Metricool Studio availability and limits depend on your plan and add-ons.
Plan | Studio access |
|---|---|
Free | Not available |
Starter / Advanced (without add-on) | 2 views, up to 10 versions per view |
Starter / Advanced with the Advanced Analytics Add-on | Full access (subject to fair use) |
When you reach a limit, Metricool Studio will show a banner or message. Without the Advanced Analytics Add-on, you can keep up to 2 views in your Studio space, and each view holds up to 10 versions in its history.
2-view limit: once you have 2 views, you can't create a new one, and you can't delete the existing ones without the add-on.
10-version limit: each change, adjustment, or refresh you request generates a new version in the view's history. Once a view reaches 10 versions, you can't request more iterations or modifications on that view.
The Advanced Analytics Add-on removes both limits. With the add-on, you can also delete views you no longer need.
The Advanced Analytics Add-on is required for full Metricool Studio access (subject to fair use) and to be able to delete data.
Data volume and period length
In Step by step (formerly Guided mode), the date range selector enforces a hard maximum of 3 months per range.
In Prompt from scratch (formerly Expert mode), there is no selector enforcing a cap, but practical limits still apply based on how much content your account has published:
An account with a high posting frequency may hit the limit with 3 months of data.
An account that publishes less often may be able to request longer periods without any issue.
If you hit a limit in Prompt from scratch, reduce the time period or the number of charts requested in the same prompt.
Prompt length
A prompt in Prompt from scratch can be up to 15,000 characters long. A character counter appears inside the text box once you reach 90% of the limit (13,500 characters).
If you go over the limit, the counter turns red and you can't generate the view until you shorten the prompt. Pasted text that already exceeds the limit is kept in full instead of being trimmed, so you can choose what to remove. For more on writing prompts, see how to create a view in Metricool Studio.
Brand-level permissions
Brand permissions are checked at every step of the flow: prompt generation, dashboard visualization, and view listing. If you don't have access to a brand you've selected, the prompt cannot be generated — the issue is caught before any view is built.
If a view in your list includes brands you don't have access to, you may be able to see it listed but not open it. Contact your account owner to review your brand permissions.
This is brand-level access permission, separate from content-edit permission. Only the view creator can edit chart titles and insights. See How to manage and edit views for content-edit permissions.
Practical tips
Test whether a metric is available first. Before requesting it in Metricool Studio, check whether the data exists in Metricool Analytics or the Planner. If it's there, Studio can use it — and can combine, compare, and share it in ways those sections can't.
Use Prompt from scratch templates (formerly Expert mode) for advanced cases. Templates in Prompt from scratch cover scenarios Step by step doesn't handle: competitor analysis, best posting times, content ideas, multi-period comparisons. Select one, adapt it to your brand and period, and run it.
FAQs
Why are some AI-generated texts in the wrong language?
Can I change the language of a view after generating it?
There's no separate language setting per view. To get a view in a different language, create a new view and write the prompt in that language, or regenerate it with a prompt in the target language.
Why can't I open a view I can see in the list?
The most common reasons: the view includes brands you don't have permission to access, your role doesn't include Reporting access for those brands, or one of the brands in the view has been deleted. Contact your account owner to review your brand permissions.
Note that permission checks also apply when creating views — if you select a brand you don't have access to, prompt generation will be blocked before a view is built.
Why can't I generate my view and the character counter is red?
Your prompt is longer than 15,000 characters. Shorten it until the counter is no longer red, then generate the view again. If you pasted a long text, Studio keeps it untouched so you can decide what to cut.
Do two identical prompts always give the same result?
Not exactly. Metricool Studio uses AI, so two identical prompts may produce outputs with small differences. Differences can also come from your personal workspace settings, such as your time zone, the day your week starts on, and any active filters in Analytics or the Planner. This is expected behavior and doesn't affect the accuracy of the underlying data.
What happens if I reach my plan's view limit?
Metricool Studio will show a banner or message, and you can't create a new view. Deleting views requires the Advanced Analytics Add-on, so without it your 2 views stay in your account. Add the Advanced Analytics Add-on for full access (subject to fair use) and to delete views.
Can I delete a Studio view?
Only with the Advanced Analytics Add-on. Without it, the Remove option is marked with a premium diamond and you can't delete views, even after reaching the 2-view limit.
Why can't I keep iterating on a view?
The view has reached the limit of 10 versions in its history for accounts without the Advanced Analytics Add-on. Every change, adjustment, or refresh you request generates a new version. Once the view reaches 10 versions, you can't request more iterations or modifications on it. Add the Advanced Analytics Add-on to remove the limit.
