Duration of connections on social networks in Metricool
Connections between Metricool and your social networks depend on the access tokens issued by each platform.
These tokens have a limited lifespan, and once they expire, you’ll need to reconnect the account.
👉 Besides expiration, other factors can also cause disconnections, such as password changes or security measures from each network.

⏱️ Approximate token duration per social network

X (Twitter) [1] | No defined expiration date. |
[1] The API states tokens do not expire automatically, but X can revoke them anytime for security reasons (multiple logins, suspicious activity, etc.)
Even if tokens have a defined duration, platforms can revoke them at any time. That’s why routine disconnections are normal. Reconnecting your accounts is part of how social networks work.
