Historical data available
Updated yesterday
Good to know
First connection: when you connect a social media account to Metricool for the first time, data from the previous 30 days is displayed.
Time zone: Metricool consolidates the data in the time zone configured in your account; you can check it here.
Daily sync: the daily synchronization runs during the early morning.
Not recoverable: the number of followers on X (Twitter), TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky and personal LinkedIn accounts, YouTube subscribers, and Instagram Stories. These metrics start being recorded from the day you connect your account and are only tracked while the account remains linked to Metricool.
Instagram connection changes: if you change how your Instagram account is connected (for example, from Instagram credentials to connecting it through Facebook, or the other way around), you lose access to the previous data history, because Meta provides two separate ways to connect to their Instagram API and each one accesses different data.
New metrics: when we add new metrics to Metricool, the available historical data is more limited; they usually start being recorded from the moment they are added to the platform or from when you connect your account, whichever happens later.
Is it possible to recover more historical data?
To obtain the history, you can request synchronization through our chat, but it is only available for paid plans (Starter, Advanced, or Custom). Accounts on the Free plan keep the previous 30 days shown when the account was connected and cannot request more. Check the main differences between Free and paid plans here.
Generally, social networks and ad platforms provide data from January 1st of the previous year to the connection date. In any case, Metricool will make the request, and it will be the API of each social network that provides us with the maximum available data: if a network's API cannot return older data, Metricool cannot recover it either.
How to request the synchronization
Open the live chat from within Metricool, logged in to the account where you want the synchronization.
Request the historical data synchronization and mention the brand and the social network the data belongs to.
Once you send the request, our team launches a manual synchronization. The process takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
You can contact the Support chat to request a synchronization to recover more historical data as long as you have a paid plan.
If your Instagram data went missing after a disconnection or a connection change, see Instagram disconnected? How to recover your connection.
These exceptions still apply after a synchronization: follower counts, YouTube subscribers, and Instagram Stories cannot be recovered, while every other metric on those networks will appear.
Network-specific limits
Any platform not listed below follows the general rule described above: data from January 1st of the previous year to the connection date, limited by what each network's API provides. The most relevant exceptions are:
Bluesky
Bluesky only provides access to historical data for up to 30 days before connecting your account.Keep in mind that follower tracking starts from the moment you connect your account to Metricool and will continue as long as the account remains connected.
Threads
Threads allows syncing a history of approximately 3 months. Obtaining a longer time range will depend on what the Threads API provides for each account.
Remember that followers are monitored from the first connection with Metricool and as long as the account is connected.
Pinterest only allows synchronization of a history of 90 days.
TikTok
Video views: It will be possible to retrieve data from the day synchronization is executed until January 1st of the previous year at the latest.
Videos viewed in the period: Data will be retrieved for a maximum of 60 days from the connection to Metricool, based on what the TikTok API provides.
Remember that followers are monitored starting from the first connection with Metricool and while the account remains connected.
YouTube
YouTube only allows syncing data from the last 30 days. Additionally, gathering all metrics will take approximately 7 days from when you connect the account.
Remember that followers are monitored from the first connection with Metricool and while the account remains connected.
X (Twitter)
To obtain all available metrics, you will need an Advanced plan or higher. The Starter plans will display metrics partially, and the posts cannot be recovered.
Check the main differences between Free and paid plans here.
Regarding posts, the following criteria apply:
New connection: When you connect a new account, we can retrieve the history of the last 5 days or up to 100 posts, whichever limit is reached first.
Manual sync: We can recover up to 1,000 posts within a maximum of 30 days from the moment of the request. So, if an X account published 2,000 posts in the last 30 days, we will only show 1,000 posts.
Collaborations data starts on January 1, 2026, with no backfill, so posts published before that date don't appear in any selected range. Collaboration metrics keep refreshing for about two months after publication, then freeze at their last synced value; nothing is ever deleted, so a removed collaboration keeps its data.
Competitors
When you add a competitor, data from the 1st day of the previous month is synchronized, except for the number of followers and likes, which can only be known from the day of the connection. From that moment on, the data will be collected. On paid plans, it is possible to synchronize a maximum history of 300 posts from the time of connection. You can request this through the chat.
It would be possible to have more historical data if it happens that the same competitor has been added by another user before.
Regarding X (Twitter), when you connect a competitor, data from the last 100 posts will be loaded or the last 30 days (depending on which variable is reached first), so it will not be possible to retrieve previous history. However, from the connection onward, the posts from the previous day of the added competitors will be synchronized.
If you disconnect a social network and reconnect it on the same brand (blogId), your competitors are kept and you don't need to add them again. If you connect the social network to a different brand, you need to add the competitors again on that brand.
Demographics data
It is possible to know some demographic data of your followers such as age, gender or geographic area. Check all the details here.
