What is a FREE account and its limitations

The FREE account lets you start using Metricool at no cost and get to know its main features, but it includes certain limitations in connections, analytics, and advanced tools.

How many brands and profiles can I have?

With the FREE plan, you can create 1 brand and connect 1 profile per social network within that brand.
For example: 1 Instagram account + 1 Facebook page + 1 TikTok profile.

You can’t delete or add extra brands on the FREE plan, only rename the existing brand.
If you need to manage multiple projects or clients, you’ll need a premium plan.

What does the 20 posts per month limit mean?

Posts are counted by calendar month, so on the 1st of each month you’ll have 20 posts available again.

The counter includes only posts that are actually published, not scheduled ones.

Keep in mind:

• The limit resets on the 1st of each month

• Duplicate posts count once for each social network they’re published on

• You can schedule more than 20 posts, but only 20 will be published during that month

• Drafts aren’t counted until they’re published

• If you downgrade from a premium plan to the FREE plan, posts published that month while on premium also count toward the 20-post limit

How much data history can I see?

With the FREE plan, you have access to 30 days of analytics history for all your connected social networks.

Paid plans allow access to a longer history.

Can I download reports or create custom reports?

No. The FREE plan doesn’t allow downloading reports in PDF or PowerPoint or creating custom reports.

You can view analytics inside the platform, but with a watermark and no export option.

Do I have access to integrations with other tools?

No. Integrations with external tools like Zapier, Looker Studio, Canva, Google Drive, or the Content library aren’t available on the FREE plan.

These features are reserved for Advanced and Custom plans.

Can I analyze my competitors?

Yes. You can add up to 5 fixed competitors for Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, and Twitch. Once added, you can’t remove or change them on the FREE plan.

What happens if I downgrade from a premium plan to FREE?

The switch to the FREE plan happens at the end of your billing cycle. From that point:

• Only 1 brand remains active (the others aren’t deleted, just hidden)

• A maximum of 20 posts per month will be published

• Analytics history is limited to 30 days

• You lose access to integrations, downloadable reports, and premium features

Will I see the “Go Premium” banner even if I have access to shared brands?

Yes. If your account is FREE, you’ll see the banner even if you’re part of a shared brand with a premium plan.

Within that shared brand, you’ll have access to premium features; the FREE plan limitations apply only to your own brand.

Do I need a credit card to use the FREE plan?

No. The FREE plan doesn’t require a credit card or any payment method.

You’ll only need to add a card if you decide to try or purchase a premium plan. If you activate a free trial, you can cancel before it ends to avoid charges.

Is the FREE plan forever?

Yes. The FREE plan is free and doesn’t expire.
