User Management is only available on Advanced and Custom plans. Free and Starter plans do not include it. If you think you should have access, first verify your plan in Plan and Billing.
How to verify your account access and your plan limits
Updated 2 days ago
Check your role on shared brands in the brand dropdown and User Management, and check your plan type in Plan and Billing.
How to verify your user role and permissions
If you collaborate in a shared brand or work as part of a team, check your assigned role to understand your access permissions.
Identify if a brand is shared
Shared brands show your assigned role next to the brand name.
Log into your Metricool account.
Open the brand dropdown menu at the top.
Shared brands display your assigned role next to the brand name (a default role like Manager or Editor, or a custom role).
The role badge next to the brand name shows your assigned permissions at a glance. If you are unsure about a custom role, contact the brand owner or a user with management permissions.
Access User Management
Use User Management to see detailed role and permission information.
Click ☰ in the top menu.
Select User Management.
Open the Users tab for the list of people with access and their roles per brand, or the Roles and permissions tab for a description of each permission type.
User Management is only available on Advanced and Custom plans. Free and Starter plans do not allow adding users.
Compare your expected permissions with your assigned ones
In User Management, check whether your permissions match what you expect.
Search for your name or email in the Users tab.
Review the role assigned to each brand.
Open the Roles and permissions tab to see what each role includes.
Types of permissions in Metricool
There are three main categories of permissions:
View permissions: allow you to see information but not make changes
Edit permissions: include viewing, plus modifying and downloading
Brand Management permissions: full access to brand configuration, including connection management and user/role administration
If a publishing error occurs, only users with Brand Management permissions and the account owner receive the error notification. Without those permissions, you do not receive publishing-issue alerts.
How to verify your plan details
To confirm which plan you have and what limits apply, open Plan and Billing. For the full walkthrough of what that screen shows, see How to check your current plan in Metricool.
Click ☰ in the top menu.
Select Plan and Billing (or open the same screen from the top-right shortcut labeled Plan and billing).
Review your current plan, billing cycle, and renewal date.
You can also open Account settings, then go to the Plans and billing section.
Invited users can access only the brands shared with them. They cannot view billing information, subscription details, or other brands on the owner’s account. Your role on a shared brand is not the same as the account’s plan: a shared brand can show paid features even if your own account is Free.
For plan comparisons, see Plans, add-ons, and API access explained and Key differences between Free and paid plans. To change or cancel a plan after you confirm it, see How to manage my plan in Metricool.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when your menu, permissions, or plan message does not match what you expect.
I don't see the User Management option
I can't access features I should have based on my role
If your assigned permissions do not match what you expect:
Contact the brand owner: only the account owner or users with Brand Management permissions can modify roles
Check your invitation email: it shows which brands you were given access to and your assigned role
Confirm you are on the correct brand: you can have different roles across different brands
I'm not sure who the brand owner is
You can check the brand owner in Metricool. See How to see a brand owner.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I have admin permissions?
In User Management, check whether your role is “Admin” or includes “Brand Management” permissions. Those roles let you connect social networks, change brand settings, and manage other users.
How many people can have access to a brand?
There is no user limit per brand on Advanced and Custom plans. Invite as many people as you need.
Can I have different roles in different brands?
Yes. You might be an Admin on one brand and an Editor on another. Permissions are assigned per brand, not per account.
